Suppose the meme machines of the spiritual internet had their way. In that case, you’d see empaths as either Angelic Enlightened Beings bearing the burdens of this world and their responsibility to it - or as Dark Empaths, which, from what I can gather, is a code for someone who has gone on a supervillain arc. Between the two, I find the supervillain the healthier of the options. If you are familiar with Ereshkigal, you will understand she can appreciate a good supervillain arc on par with Lilith.
While villain life coaching is a great line of work (check out caffeinatedkitti on TikTok to understand this concept), that’s not where I intend to take the Empath Training. However, I am taking this particular training to a Dark Goddess who, in my view, could be the Empath Goddess from what we can piece together from the admittedly spotty lore about her.
Long story that will be told as fully as it can be in the class, Ereshkigal got hidden away from the world to the point where people forgot to show her that her perspective and experiences mattered. The story often parallels with the experience of the modern empath.
Empaths often end up helping people see themselves and help those around them to feel heard truly. But that often comes at a loss: most metaphysical empaths often spend so much time reflecting on the people around them that their image - their ability to be known - gets lost in all that shining light.
The problem with too much light is that it can blind you - especially to yourself.
So we’re addressing that - with a guided meditation of descent into Ereshkigal’s realm. There, you will experience experiencing the empath by seeing yourself and your origins as an empath reflected. These are the deeper shadows, where the empath has hidden and buried even some of their best aspects.
